Heating the house AND saving on oil
Alice Fletcher started using HOTMAX in the snow and ice of the winter before last. Living on a country lane not far from Hadrian's Wall, with two children to keep warm through one of the worst winters for decades, she and her family spent several weeks a foot deep in snow, and she describes HOTMAX as a 'life-saver. But then in the much milder winter we've just enjoyed, HOTMAX proved it could save oil, too."HOTMAX was a life-saver in the really cold weather. Thankfully we had a good supply in just before the first snow arrived before Christmas in 2010, and we burned HOTMAX in two woodburners at either end of the house for the entire cold period. It was brilliant. We really appreciated the quick heat that HOTMAX can generate to keep that cold at bay, and it made all the difference. The children loved the snow, of course, but they also loved coming indoors to the woodburner after an hour building snowmen."
After the recent mild winter weather, it might be easy to forget just how arctic the previous winter was, but Alice Fletcher discovered a completely different benefit of using HOTMAX this year.
"This year we continued to use HOTMAX in the woodburners, and in the milder weather we found that we didn't actually need to use the central heating at all. The woodburners and the HOTMAX generated enough heat to keep the house a good temperature, and the warmth from the living room woodburner drifted up the stairs and kept the bedrooms warm.
"We ended up going through the entire winter using the central heating only for the odd hour here and there. My husband says we've saved a fortune in oil, which makes him very happy."
